About Us

This website was created as a space where literature and learning come together.  The main focus of this site is to connect children's books to the New York State learning standards.  The site also provides additional resources that support the importance of using literature to teach curriculum.

History of Site

This website was created by Amy Sniffen, a senior at St. John Fisher College.  She is a teacher candidate in the School of Education.  This website was created as a capstone project for an Instructional Technology minor.
"For the past three years I have learned about the importance of integrating literature in learning.  The most effective form of literature is children's books.  I found it so time consuming to research appropriate children's books and relating learning standards to incorporate into my lessons.  I developed this site so the children's books and learning standards are all in one place!"

Our users

This site was designed to serve teacher candidates as they prepare numerous lesson plans and reflect on the importance of literature in learning.  This site was also designed to serve teachers; teachers have very little time to spend researching. This site is a fast, easy, go-to place for teachers where all the information they need about children's literature and learning standards are all in one place.  This site can also serve as a resource for parents who recognize the importance of using children's literature to teach their children about the world.
